Grout is a mixture of sand, cement and water, once it’s installed and dried it has no protection from stains, spills and dirt. Grout between the tiles is actually very porous, it will absorb liquids and dirt, which will stain the grout permanently if not sealed correctly. As the grout in your home becomes dirty over time, it will start changing color, making the tile floors look bad and unsanitary.

We use a specially designed pre-treatment solution that is odorless, high quality and eco friendly combined with our hot and pressurized water that is contained under vacuum pressure, also known as “steam cleaning”. The system that we use is completely safe, it does not damage the tile and grout and does not splatter any water on the walls or surrounding objects.

Our tile and grout cleaning system does a great job restoring any tile and grout from ceramic to porcelain and even natural stone. The process that we use to clean tile and grout does not leave any residue or left over the solution, your tile and grout will be dry and completely sanitized before we leave! We highly recommend getting your grout sealed after the cleaning process. A tile sealant is also recommended for natural stone because natural stone is also very porous. The sealer will penetrate into the grout and fill up the pores and block any liquids and dirt that is trying to soak in.

We also offer a wide variety of grout colour sealers. Colour sealing is used for correcting the inconsistent grout colour or for changing the grout colour. The grout colour sealers that we use are the highest quality on the market today that can last up to 15 years. Colour sealing will make the tile and grout floors look brand new again and it makes it much easier to maintain your tile and grout surfaces.

Travertine is a very popular natural stone choice because of its beautiful colour patterns, but it is also a softer stone which causes it to soak in the dirt particles and scratch. At the Grout Brothers, we specialize in travertine cleaning, refinishing, sealing, colour enhancing and repairing travertine floors and showers. Travertine can also take on different finishes from honed to the high shine and we can achieve the finish that you desire.

There are two types of travertine, filled and unfilled. Filled travertine has its holes filled with a special travertine filler which makes it smooth and over time some of the filler becomes loose and creates holes in your travertine surface, we at Grout Brothers can fill in those holes leaving your travertine surfaces smooth again. Unfilled travertine is travertine that has holes in it that are not filled, dirt and bacteria can get into those holes because regular mopping cannot get into those holes,

At Grout Brothers we use a special high-pressure tile cleaning equipment that gets into all those holes from the smallest to the largest leaving your travertine surfaces completely clean and bacteria free. After your travertine surfaces are refinished and cleaned, we then apply a penetrating sealant to your travertine surfaces which will make it easier to maintain. Travertine may also be colour enhanced, colour enhancing enhances the colours of the travertine surfaces giving it colour and darker colours.

Grout haze is a very common problem after a new tile surface has been installed. Grout haze is caused when the grout installer did not wipe all the grout off the tile surfaces letting it dry and harden on the tiles. After the grout has dried on top of the new tile, it forms a hazy look on the tile making it look dirty. It is very difficult to remove grout haze after it sat for more than 24 hours.

At Grout Brothers we specialize in removing grout haze from tile surfaces using specially formulated solutions that break down the grout haze. After the grout haze has been chemically broken down, we then use a heavy duty floor scrubber that loosens up the rest of the grout haze off the tiles.

After all the grout haze has been loosened, we then use our commercial grade truck-mounted machine that rinses the surfaces with constant fresh water all under vacuum pressure leaving the tiles look like they just came out of the box after drying.

Our process is very effective and does not damage surrounding objects, tile surfaces and does not leave any residue.
